The five teenagers accused of brutally killing 27 year old Thoriso Themane are formally facing charges of murder, the National Prosecuting Authority has confirmed.
The five accused appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate Court on Thursday, a sixth suspect was arrested on Wednesday and is yet to appear in court.
In a series of videos that have since gone viral, the teenagers beat Themane who later succumbed to his injuries.
The #justiceforthoriso movement is aiming to put pressure on the justice system to ensure that those implicated are brought to book.
The teenagers are expected to appear in court again next week.
