Rape accused Pastor Timothy Omotoso and his two co-accused made a brief appearance in the Port Elizabeth High Court on Monday morning.

The state asked that the case be postponed to allow the Constitutional Court to give a ruling on the defence's leave to appeal the application.

The defence's lawyers have escalated the bid to have judge Mandela Makaula recused from the case.
Omotoso's lawyer Peter Daubermann accused Makaula of being " biased" following the testimony of the first witness, Cherly Zondi. He claimed he was "too friendly" with her.

Omotoso and his two co-accused are facing 63 charges and 34  alternative charges which include rape, assault and racketeering.
The case was postponed to the 16 of April.
