                             finding your passion

the universe is big, there are numerous things that one would do, things that one would even find to be interesting but are those things what you are passionate about?
we live in a world where before we can decide what we passionate about we have to think if that passion will make us rich, if that passion will put food in the table to a point that we choose careers based on security but not passion.
the best place to spot people who have chosen security over passion is high school, or should i say the place where pupils are forced to choose security over passion. Maths and science are are security or most parents, because their children will end up being engineers, doctors or even pilots. the problem begins when students are not given a choice to choose what they are passionate about or rather what they like or do best.
the worse place to see what the drive to secure a job, money and wealth is the hospital. we have nurses and doctors who are into medicine not because they love it but because the salary is good and they would never go hungry. that's the very same reason we find patients neglected, shouted at, beaten or even harassed by nurses and Doctors, because they are not doing the job out of love but for the drive of making money.
when  i passed my grade 9 my dad chose maths and science and i added accounting and biology. truth is the idea of science excited me but i was scared i would fail. mind you i was an A student by June i wanted nothing to do with maths and science, as i result i changed to Business studies and Maths literacy. Yes i had accepted defeat if that's what you want to call it but i call it being realistic and realistic that i did not belong in those subjects. today i am studying towads my National Diploma in Journalism, majoring in broadcast.
