what is an opinion?
the dictionary meaning of an opinion is a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty. a personal view, attitude, or appraisal. My main question is: why is it that people always judge peoples opinions? why do we say someone has no respect when they voice out their opinion? doesnt the dictionary say its a personal view!!!!
A very good example would be when Vuyo Mbuli Passed on, we had a discussion in my broadcast class, paying attribute to his work, people had a fair share to say about the good work that Mr shap shap had done during in the journalism industry. there was but one individual who i would rather not mention his name who had a different pespective or rather view of Vuyo Mbulis work, poor guy was called all the bad names  you can think about! for mearly voicing out his personal view! but why ask someone what they think if you are going to chew them alive. I for one think that Vuyo Mbuli was a legend in the Journalism industry, i loved his work, he was a very humble person, may his soul rest in peace.
i would conclude by saying allow people to voice out their opinion, the only thing that should matter is not inciting violence or violating other peoples rights.

Online News Organisations (assignment)

Technology has improved immensely in the last 100 years; this has improved the way news is disseminated. The web has made it easy for news organisations to break a story instantly rather than waiting for the newspaper to be published, this can take either a day or even a week for weekly newspapers.
I have looked at various online news sides, and these include Daily Maverick, City Press online, Sowetan live, and Times live. All these online news organisations have a different layout and their style of writing is not the same either.  All these news sites use social network to communicate with their readers, they also use social network to break stories.
I have learned a lot from visiting all these news Organisations, The way you plan your website, determines the number of readers you have. I have noticed with Sowetan live, their home page is very simple and this can affect their figures because people prefer to see colour and images, but again they know their readers best. Of all the news organisations I read, I personally think that news24 and City press are the best in terms of layout, content and keeping good communication with their readers. News24 has a section where readers publish their own stories, i find this interesting because when readers see their own stories published they become motivated, and this might increase subscribers because they tell others about their stories being published.
I had a rather different reaction when it came to Daily Maverick (http://www.dailymaverick.co.za/) and Timeslive   (http://www.timeslive.com/)  Daily Mavericks website is rather dull and not eye catching. The use of black and white made me uninterested in even reading further, but i must say they have very beautiful photographs, and the way they position their stories is different from the rest other organisations. As for Timeslive, I think they should go back to the drawing board, their home page is very simple, it indicates laziness, it should not necessarily be a rainbow but way creative than the current one. It does however have various options such as live sports, live match’s and live traffic.
I was very impressed with the fact that News24 has an option of watching videos i saw a video on the current Oscar Pistorious court case http://www.news24.com/Multimedia/South-Africa/Pistorius-leaves-court-after-hearing-20130219 . This was a very smart move that News24 did. Honestly speaking i learned so much in a very short period of time because usually i just read the news and i never observe the layout or the presentation of most News Organisations. Although i was impressed with most of the News Organisation sites i visited, i still think there is room for improvement.

valentines day

do u ever wonder why we celebrate valentines day, why we buy each ada presents. why is it that on this day red and white are the colours of the day. well that makes the two of us. Romeo and Juliet are one of the most famous stories of love that we know. there are many versions of the story behind valentines day, one which says that Valentine fell in love with his jailer daughter, just before his death he wrote heer a not signed from your Valentine,

Today Valentines day is still celebrated all over the world. people have a different understanting of what valentine is, but nevertheless its still celebrated. couples all over the world will be making love stories of their own this valentines day, while others believe valentines day is overrated to be celebrated.
Reseach shows that many ladies send themselves roses on valentines day. i personally respect these ladies, you dont need someone to remind you how special you are. if there is no Mr right to show you then take innitiative and do it yourself. this does not only apply to ladies, gentlemen respect yourself and just take yourself or even a friend out. make everyday a valentines day.
